Short answer
We found no complete plug-in solar kit with a UL 3700 listing in the public directories we searched (CSA Group, Intertek and UL Solutions). One microinverter is listed there as a part of a plug-in system, not as a whole kit. One more maker says a lab has certified its inverter, but the record isn't public yet.

The evidence, product by product
Three levels, strongest first: a record we found in a testing lab's own public directory; a maker that names the lab, with no public record yet; and a maker's claim with no lab named. Quotes are word for word from the linked source.

Why an inverter record isn't a kit record
UL 3700 covers plug-in photovoltaic equipment and systems. A lab can certify one part, such as the microinverter, for use in a system that is evaluated later as a whole. The one public record we found says so itself: future evaluation should be considered when forming a complete PIPV system with other subassembly parts

What that means for you depends on your state's wording. Of the 10 state laws in force or signed, 3 name UL 3700, the new plug-in-specific standard; 1 names UL 1741, an inverter standard; and 6 ask for a listing by an independent testing lab without naming either. What each state's law asks for.
There isn't yet a product that can meet the letter of the law.

Where we looked
- CSA Product Listing Searched Class 5311-80, "Interactive Plug-In PV Equipment and Systems (PIPV) - Certified to US Standards" (requirement: UL Subject 3700), holds one certification record: file 259077.
- Intertek ETL Listed Mark directory Searched No record lists UL 3700 or plug-in photovoltaic equipment. Mango Power Tech Inc. has records for UL 1741 and IEEE 1547, none for UL 3700.
- UL Product iQ Searched Searched the abridged site (no account). "PIPV" and "Interactive Plug-in Photovoltaic" return no records, and "UL 3700" returns only unrelated products. The full database needs an account, which we haven't used.

How to check a claim yourself
- Ask which lab, which standard, and the file number. A real certification has all three.
- Look the number up in the lab's own directory. The links above go to each lab's search page.
- Check what the record covers. The inverter alone, or the panels, cables, plug and mounting too?
- Read "compliant" and "designed to meet" as the maker's words. They aren't a lab's listing.

Certified kits: questions
Is any plug-in solar kit UL 3700 certified?
We found no complete plug-in solar kit with a UL 3700 listing in the public directories we searched (CSA Group, Intertek and UL Solutions). One microinverter is listed there as a part of a plug-in system, not as a whole kit. One more maker says a lab has certified its inverter, but the record isn't public yet. We checked on Oct 5, 2026. We haven't searched TÜV certificate databases, so a listing could exist there.
Which plug-in solar products have a UL 3700 record?
The APsystems EZ1-LV microinverter (CSA file 259077, class 5311-80, CSA Group). It is listed as a part of a plug-in system, and the record says a complete system needs further evaluation.
Is UL 1741 enough for my state?
It depends on the wording of your state's law. Of the 10 state laws in force or signed, 3 name UL 3700, the new plug-in-specific standard; 1 names UL 1741, an inverter standard; and 6 ask for a listing by an independent testing lab without naming either. What each state asks for
How do I check a certification claim myself?
Ask the seller which lab certified the product, to which standard, and for the file or certificate number. Then look that number up in the lab's own public directory. "Compliant with" or "designed to meet" a standard is the maker's statement, not a lab's.
How this page is kept
Every entry has a source we opened ourselves on Oct 5, 2026 and a quote copied from it. We don't describe a product as uncertified unless its maker says so. We don't take payment for listings, and there are no paid links on this page.
General information, not legal or electrical advice. A certification record doesn't by itself mean a product meets your state's law.
